Source: Callier effect – Wikipedia
I’m still working on my ‘scanner’ for my negatives and have been studying the differences between light sources. For a long time I’ve used a very diffuse light source, but I’m wondering now if a collimated light might help me get more detail. I’ve read about the differences between the light sources for darkroom enlargers and just purchased an old condensing head to modify for my digital camera scanner. My friend Greg who knows a lot more about film photography, suggested I read up on the Callier effect and so here I am. It’s really interesting.
