For a long time I&#8217;ve used a very diffuse light source, but I&#8217;m wondering now if a collimated light might help me get more detail. I&#8217;ve read about the differences between the light sources for darkroom enlargers and just purchased an old condensing head to modify for my digital camera scanner. My friend Greg who knows a lot more about film photography, suggested I read up on the Callier effect and so here I am.
